David has been hooked on music since playing his first gig in a coffee shop at the age of 14. He strives to fill his life with music and takes every opportunity to play in jazz combos with friends, Big Bands like the Conn-Selmer Centrestage Jazz Band, the TD High School Jazz Intensive, the 45th Ave Jazz Band, as well as with many solo artists.

In 2015, David recorded his first jazz album with an ensemble of young musicians in British Columbia, and in the summer of 2016 he participated in the Berklee Jazz Workshop led by multiple-Grammy Award–winning drummer, composer, and producer Terri Lyne Carrington. This past summer he spend four weeks working with the 2017 National Youth Jazz Combo, led by Juno Award winning saxophonist Kirk Macdonald.

Currently, David studies Jazz Performance at the University of Toronto. He is a member of the University of Toronto Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Gordon Foote, and studies with Kelly Jefferson.
